The Miracle of Mosta Rotunda | Malta

In a small town called Mosta, stands a church with strong significance for the people in Malta. It is know to be the miracle church and also the 3rd largest unsupported dome in the world, made out of limestone, with a diameter of 40 meters inspired by the design of the Pantheon in Rome!

What is so unique and special about this church especially for the Maltese, is that during the bombardments in WW2 in 1942, a bomb came through the roof but did not explode. While 300 people were inside during mass, it was not only this bomb that did not explode, but two others which landed outside the church, hence why it is called the miracle church. Today you can still see a replica of the bomb which did not exposed in the church.

It was only due to the fact that I took some hitchhikers with me that I was allowed to learn something I wouldn’t have otherwise gone to explore. Once again I can only emphasize on the adventure you receive when you travel alone, plunge yourself into the local culture and speak to strangers! That’s how you truly learn and uncover great new explorations!

We are generation change!

Enjoy! Yours truly,
